How Much Can I Earn as a Tutor?

At SiSTEM, we believe in rewarding our tutors well for the time they have put into their studies and the hard work they do with their tutoring students. As such, we offer a pay scale dependent on your role at SiSTEM as well as the amount of experience and education you have.

SiSTEM tutoring jobs aim to empower students academically but also instill a sense of mentorship among tutors and students. This partnership encourages students to adopt academic values, beliefs, and attitudes to form and reach academic goals. Our tutors work mostly with minority students, economically disadvantaged students, at-risk students, and migrant students.

Currently, all our in-person tutors are based in Texas. We are looking to hire in the following cities:

If you have any experience or knowledge in tutoring in Ukrainian, Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, or Mandarin, we want you on our team! 

Earnings

As noted, the pay scale at SiSTEM is dependent on your experience and your role at our tutoring agency. Our policy is that college students will be paid on the lower end of our pay scale, while professional teachers will be paid on the higher end of the scale. The rate for college grads/other professionals with tutoring/teaching experience will be somewhere in between.

As a private academic, in-person tutor, we are willing to offer between $15-30 per hour. 

Campus immersion tutors can make between $19-30 per hour. For this opportunity, you must be a college graduate, if not a certified or retired teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification.

If you specialize in test preparation tutoring and are willing to work with students one-on-one, you could earn between $30-45 per hour. For test prep tutoring, we are primarily looking for tutors in the following cities and suburbs:

• Houston
• Dallas
• Fort Worth
• Austin
• San Antonio
• El Paso

• NCLEX
